About Bell's Orchard
Est. 2005
Since 2005, we've been training and pruning 1,200 trees to be short, so everyone in the family, from the youngest to the oldest, can enjoy their time together at the orchard.

All about Bell's Orchard
Bell’s Orchard was founded in 2005 as a busy retirement activity for Lloyd & Annette Bell. As Lloyd retired from his career as an IT executive in the Banking industry and Annette from 40 years of piano teaching we settled on establishing a fruit farm. As parents of 6 , grandparents of 29 and great grandparents of 2 (so far) it’s no surprise our motto became “Raising Fruit and Families”.
There are about 1,200 trees in our orchard. The orchard has been trained through pruning over the years to be short. That means even toddlers can reach fruit on the trees and help in the harvest. One of our great delights is to watch children of all ages as they discover a peach, apple, pear or cherry on a tree that they can pick and eat. Our customers are mostly families who come for an adventure picking fruit in the orchard. We also provide apples to Portland Public Schools and to Beaverton School District.
All of our labor force is Junior High and High School kids who come to the orchard and learn how to prune, thin, pick and sell fruit. For most of them it is their first job and we are thrilled to watch them learn about growing fruit and how to work. We hope their experiences help their parents in a small way as they are raising their families.

Family U-Pick
Orchard
Bell’s Orchard grows delicious varieties of Peaches, Pears and Apples. We have introduced the “short orchard” to the Willamette valley. Come pick our amazing fruit with both feet firmly planted on the ground. No ladders are needed in our family friendly “short orchard”. The fruit is close enough to the ground that kids can help harvest.
